First Dibs


1stDibs is a digital-first luxury retailer offering an exquisite assortment of goods from antique furniture and jewelry, to art, fashion, lighting, design, and decor. The goal of this “brandshift” was to implement a new unique point of view and target areas of improvement for the brand.  

The approach I chose was “storytelling”, to specifically highlight the importance of not only the history of the piece and designer, but also the previous owner; giving them an opportunity to share how they used the piece, why they loved it, how it was passed down generations etc. Overall the goal was to de-emphasize the idea of buying and selling and highlight the idea pf building a collection and writing your own narrative through high end curated design. 

At 1stDibs every piece has its own unique story. What will yours be.

Website is equipped with special features such as a voice recording capability for sellers to share the story and past life of their piece whether it be passed down through generations or housed in their own living room.
The main goal and focus of the social media design is to connect with teh younger audience that proliferates on social media platforms.  It is also continueing to use the framings grid motif employed in the website in a bold colorful manner.
