Pie
This is an academic-driven project that prompted us to create a publication based upon an assigned food item. Rather than directly target the food item and its history, I decided to focus on the colloquial metaphor of "woman as pie.”

The project explores how the metaphor of pie, often used to euphemistically refer to women’s bodies, specifically the vagina, reflects broader societal attitudes about gender, objectification, and identity, while using an inspired visual language of classical recipe books and advertisements directed towards women.  It dissects the implications of reducing women to consumable objects, from the saccharine clichés of "sugar and spice" to the vulgar euphemisms that reduce women to
"slices" or "pieces,” the work illuminates how language and metaphor shape perceptions of femininity, power, and worth.
